The Oz reports that Bob Carr and Sam Dastyari are launching "Voice" as a journal of the NSW Right faction. Dastyari says the journal is a whole new policy development tool and a recognition that we need to be a forum for ideas and debate.
Left convenor John Graham says the factions going head-to-head with policy journals was "a clash of ideas the likes of which is rarely seen in NSW Labor".
Which sounds great in theory - but the articles we are told are in the journals relate to internal party reform or how the carbon-tax should have been sold.
Where I ask is the debate on "what is the meaning of the socialisation objective in the platform, how should it translate into policy and how do we convince the community of its benefits to them." That's the policy journal I'm looking for.
